Hi Friends… I decided to change tracks this week and share a bit of what I’d done and seen lately instead of the post I had been writing about our Patio. The weather hasn’t been patio worthy here in New Jersey yet so really it’s ok. So…here’s the latest.

My employer David is the loveliest human and he brought me back wonderful treats from Paris. How thoughtful!

I attended a twilight open house in my neighborhood - click on the image to see the listing.

I visited Barnes & Noble because I wanted a copy of Meet Me by the Fountain for the permanent collection. I also picked up 4 British shelter mags - a huge treat since I rarely buy them anymore and no longer have any subscriptions. The downfall of print media in our social media world!

I enjoyed some time outside on the side gallerie reading before Mass.

I treated myself to Chasing Beauty - Isabella Stewart Gardner was magnificent

I had Tear Duct Surgery which included - a Turbinectomy - I was told for the first time ever I had a deviated septum - and the Dr. would go through my nasal passage to unblock my tear duct. It’s been a whole lot friends and wholly unexpected. It’s a nose job without the Rhinoplasty pretty part. Everyone continues to be so very kind with messages. I received these gorgeous flowers from my sister and bff. If you are an Instagram follower you’re aware my recovery has been difficult.

My sweet friend Patricia of Vintage & More came across vintage matchbooks while she was out sourcing for her shop. She let me pick out a few fun ones. I so wish I kept more from my youth. I was on an Eastern flight from St. Thomas in 1989 and I got stuck on the tarmac for 3hrs before we could take off. The company was soon no more. Oh and Mr. Peanut and of course Disneyland!

As I said to a friend - no matter what I will always post a friendly Friday. I shared this last Friday over on the Gram! I loved all these creatives images!

So there you have it friends… the healing continues… the meds do too and I’m looking forward to having this surgery well in the past. Please pop by the gram to see what’s happening at the Chalet on the daily!

I’m off to my first post op appointment this am! Hoping life will return to more normalcy after today. Til next time be well!

Dandy Dresses

Hi Friends here I am sharing a few more pieces I’ve added to my closet. What can I say. I’ve lost a total of 22lbs and I wanted some lovely new things. I’m also excited to pull out dresses I’ve had for years and see how they fit.

I had my eye on this Navy Pintuck Dress from J.Crew but resisted putting it in my shopping bag until I saw it on Hillary of Tello and Rose from Instagram. The skirt is wide and I do so wish the dress had pockets but, oh well. I know I’ll have it in my wardrobe for years to come. The dress is a stretch twill which has the nice finish of a combed cotton.

My son has a special event at Church in June and I wanted something fun and vibrant. A dress I won’t need to think about and I think this dress from Tuckernuck fits the bill perfectly. It’s cotton and I like the feel of the fabric. All I need to do is decide on earrings and shoes and I’m all set. I showed the dress to my son and husband and both overwhelmingly approved the choice.

With my measurements I ordered a size M. When it arrived - it ran very tight through the underarm and across the chest. So I exchanged it for a Large. (the return and subsequent replacement all happened very quickly.) I may have the dress altered to take up a bit of the excess fabric on the sides. I certainly don’t wish to look larger than I am. But, I haven’t made up my mind yet.

Well there you have it friends… two new dresses that I can’t wait to wear!

Til next time be well and I’ll see you over on Instagram.
