Gifts to Myself

Yesterday was the anniversary of my birth and if you’re like me - you may think of a thing or two you’d like for your special day. I gathered the items I purchased for myself under the guise of - “Oh this is for my birthday.”

I have been a fan of Erin Benzakein and Floret Farms for quite a while on Instagram - I receive the newsletter and have watched the television show. I was thrilled to welcome her collection of blooms into the Chalet. I also gifted a copy to my sister who is a fabulous gardener.

Cynthia Zamaria just released her first book and I could not wait to get a copy in my hot little hands! I love when inspirational Instagram accounts become Insta-pals and I’m elated to have a piece of this talented lady in the Chalet. Her style is vintage + modern which I am totally in awe of. I love the curated feel of gallery walls and other areas that are sparse and purposeful. I’m crazy inspired by her design sense.

I don’t know of a more prolific creator than Bari J. Ackerman. Bari’s work and her entrepreneurial spirit are incredibly motivating. She’s an artist, home decor expert who has partnered with brands including Joybird and Loloi Rugs, an interior designer, writer and founder of Bari J. lifestyle brand. You’ll marvel at the art she’s created and how its translated into fabric and wall covers for your own home and more! I started following Bari on Instagram and now, she’s a friend and I’m ecstatic to have Bloom Wild here in the Chalet!

These books all share a floral theme and I chuckle about that. I love having them here on the sun-porch with my latest plant. I will always treasure these as a remembrance of this birthday.

Til next week be well friends!

Summer Kick Off '22

Friends our summer got off to a rockin’ start last Friday 6.24.22 when we ventured to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ for the Tears For Fears concert. It was amazing and the best part it was my sons very first concert!

We met up with family (there were eight of us) at the Jon Bon Jovi Rest Stop. Living our best Life! Then we traveled the 12 miles south on the Parkway to the PNC Bank Arts Center outdoor amphitheater.

After grabbing some snacks and concert T-shirts we sat down in time to enjoy the opening band Garbage.

Garbage paying homage to Depeche Mode!

Garbage were awesome! Here I am with the ladies!

Tears For Fears hit the stage at 9pm opening with the title track from The Tipping Point.

The Tipping Point

Roland led us in a wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday for Curt!

My Demon

Obviously friends I can’t share an entire 3 hours of music here … but, these snippets give you an idea of what a fun and magical event it was. I particularly loved grabbing video of my soon to be 11 yr old singing and dancing along!

Break It Down Again

Tears For Fears were incredible playing 19 songs + happy birthday + the song Stay was playing through the system prior to them coming to the stage. I created a play list of the concert on Spodify so I’ll always remember!

I hadn’t been to a concert in years and it was just a joyous experience. Til next time friends be well and I wish you a wonderful July 4th!
