Hello Summer 2020
/I really can’t wrap my head around that this weekend is Memorial Day Weekend - possibly because the weather just warmed up here in Northern NJ or maybe because life as we know it - is on hold? I don’t wish to bum you out but, I can’t help and think of what we would be doing this weekend and what we would be and are still hopeful for the summer ahead.
Instead of walking up to the Avenue and watching my husband and son walk in our Memorial Day Parade - we’ll be here at the Chalet. Fingers crossed the weather will be lovely and we can spend most of it outdoors. We’re planning on getting into the garage and pulling out the rest of outdoor furniture and setting up the patio.
I might be weeding. If you follow along on Instagram than you know doing any sort of gardening maintenance is new for me. I’ve realized that weeding is basically cleaning outside - so I’m good!
I have already thought about the need for some sort of pool for our son to be able to cool off - because although our local swim club has not cancelled the season - I am doubtful we’ll be seeing any diving-board antics this year. We may have a blow up in the back of garage so this is TBD…. I did say to my hubby “Lets just get a plastic baby pool he can sit in.” The blow up pools while amazing are an amazing amount of work to fill and empty.
I don’t think I have ever been happier that New Jersey legalized Fireworks - because I’m sure we will not be viewing them from the High School - instead my husband will be setting some off in the yard!
I miss NYC: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, Lincoln Center, walking, drinking, eating and everything about being there - especially with these ladies.
We are very hopeful by August we will be able to comfortably enjoy a week at the beach - and for us the beach can only mean one place - Ocean City, NJ.
My lasting thought on day 68 is hopefulness.
Til next time friends continue to be vigilant and stay safe!
